The Wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle is set to take place in Windsor on Saturday 19th May 2018.
The latest in a long line of Royal Weddings is taking place in our great town of Windsor on Saturday 19th May 2018 at Midday.
Price Harry and Meghan Markle will wed within the walls of St Georges Chapel, in the grounds of Windsor Castle and we want as many people as possible to celebrate the big day!
Here is some trivia that you may or may not have known about the big day, Prince Harry & Meghan.
Kensington Palace confirmed via Twitter back in December, the couple’s decision to wed on a Saturday goes against tradition, as royal weddings usually take place on a weekday. For example, The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge (William and Catherine) wed on a Friday and the Queen on a Thursday.
Her Majesty the Queen, Elizabeth II, currently the United Kingdom’s longest serving Monarch, has granted permission for the ceremony to be held in the place of worship, which seats approximately 800, and core aspects of the wedding, including the service, music, flowers, decorations and reception, will be paid for by the royal family.
Both Harry & Meghan are currently set to become The Duke and Duchess of Sussex respectively (though this is still up for debate with The Royal Family circle). The county of Sussex borders Hampshire and Surrey, which in turn both border with the Eastern Side of the county of Berkshire.
Coincidentally, the chosen date falls on the same day as The FA Cup final at nearby Wembley Stadium which is a football (soccer) tournament that has been held in the UK since 1871.
